This site exists primarily for osteopaths to discuss current developments in the regulation of Osteopathy in the UK. However, this is a public forum and anyone who is interested can contribute to the discussion.
Why is this necessary?
The regulatory framework for Osteopathy in the UK is changing. The GOsC is currently consulting the profession and other stakeholders about the draft documents they have produced:
- Revalidation for Osteopaths (new)
- Code of Practice (revised)*
- Osteopathic Practice Standards (revised)
- Osteopathic Practice Framework (new)
The impact of these developments is likely to be profound. To support UK osteopaths in engaging with the consultation process, this site provides the opportunity for them to share their views about the proposed changes. Any UK osteopath (or student) can contribute articles and anyone who wants to can comment on these.
We hope that this exchange of ideas will help osteopaths to support the GOsC in creating a regulatory framework that not only protects the public but also supports the profession.
*The draft Code of Practice has not yet been released
